Overview of Role
The day-to-day function of this role will include responsibilities for identifying, contacting, and nurturing new business prospects. You’ll do this through developing relationships with businesses to discuss our energy related products and services.To be successful in this role, you will need to build and cultivate strong working relationships with decision makers through a variety of communication methods. This role would therefore suit a confident communicator with a collaborative, can do attitude.
Main Responsibilities
- Proactively outreach to prospects, establishing initial contact in order to identify opportunities to discuss commercial energy procurement requirements.
- Qualify leads through effective questioning, educating and engaging with prospects to build awareness of the company’s commercial energy procurement services.
- Represent the company at a variety of conferences and networking events, working to generate leads and builds relationships with a business decision makers.
- Track and analyse key performance indicators to effectively measure the success of your acquisition activities and bring insights back into the business.
- Utilise the CRM to keep accurate and detailed records of business development activities, including calls, meetings, and follow-ups with prospects and clients.
- Adhere to sales compliance rules at all times, ensuring business development activities conform to RECCo’s Third Part Intermediary Code of Conduct requirements.
- Work with your line manager to implement individual development feedback, ensuring deliverables agreed to improve performance are managed through to implementation.
- Contribute to the overall objectives of the business by keeping abreast of industry news and identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement with wider team members.

To be considered for this role, the skills and experience you’ll need to have include:
- Exceptional communication skills, with the confidence to engage with decision-makers.
- A knack for listening and understanding client needs to tailor solutions effectively.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage a busy workload and prioritise tasks.
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
- Goal-oriented with a strong desire to meet and exceed targets.
